2003 Terminal Server Profile Issues
2003 Terminal Server Profile Issues
Solution
When a user logs into a Windows 2003 Terminal Server, and the profile needs to be created each time, log on as Administrator, launch REGEDIT, navigate to HKLM\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\ProfileList.
There will be a number of profiles listed that are just a string of numbers. Look for one that ends in ".bak." Navigate to it and expand it, and check to see if the username listed is the one that is having problems keeping a profile. If it is, delete it. The user will have to recreate preferences, but they will stay from session to session.
